Patience- A Musical Number

(I wrote this a few weeks ago as well. italics is the chorus, if things don't make sense, they probably never will. ENJOY!)

Wendy: Patience, patience, patience, my trial. (channels inner Elizabeth Bennett)

Sometimes feel like a wise older person trapped in a teenager's body.
I wanna be done with all dis teenager laughing out louding, like whatev, just kidding.
Sure, sure I know I have to be an teenager in order to be an adult.  It's elementary, my dear watson.

Peter Pan's got nothing on me!  (cue music)

I wanna grow up (pouts)
I wanna be in school                   at college please
and that'd be cool
stop yo talkin like a fool!

I wanna grow up!                   (I wanna grow up)
I wanna do what I like        (wanna do what I like)
Grow out of the worries about myself
(places hand on forehead and gasps dramamatically)

grow out of the the worries about yourself!

Like what to wear to a dance rehearsal or school or church or gym or swimming or to Disneyland

(where it doesn't matter if you look like a model out of teen vogue as much as you wanted too!)

(pause)

W: or to have my wardrobe look like the new roxy cataloge that graced my mailbox with its presence yesterday!                 yesterday! (harmonized)

(switches to guys and dolls big show)
W: I wanna grow up!
I wanna grow up {chorus use glitter fingers and snaps}
Be done with all these tragidies!                            Not the boys!
Like my lack of sleep
over anxiety
and the overthinking!                                              Say what?

I'm plagued with grief!
                                          She's plagued with grief!
Over her hair and eyes
                                     teenagers are deterierized
What's this product and why?
                                            will it make her cry?

If growing up is better-er, than all the better that there ever were.
I wanna grow up
wanna grow up
Wanna grow up!

Parents: Like me
All inspirational people in history: Like I
Siblings: Like me!

Wendy: Like (beat, s.s merrilee swoosh) you!
(chorus jigs backwards while snapping) arrrrrrrrrAHrmmmm fffaaaaaan

(Final stroke of strings, dun-dah)

(Rachel, I mean Wendy, wipes tears as she flamboastily curtsies the crowd, accepting bouquets)

WR: Thank you! It's all too much!
